COVID-19 Update: Keeping You Safe When You Come For Treatment
As healers, my colleagues and I first pledge to do no harm. That’s why we are taking every precaution we can to help keep you safe when you come in for treatment. We want you to feel safe when you come to our office for healing, and because everyone has a different level of comfort during these trying times, we are trying to take extra precautions in order for everyone to feel safe. If you are frustrated by these extra measure, I understand, and hope you will bear with us during this unprecedented time.
Even before the pandemic, we have always adhered to such basic infection control measures such as washing hands thoroughly and changing any linens in between patient contacts as well as cleaning any surfaces touched in treatments. As an added measure, we have HEPA air filters in the treatment rooms to circulate and clean the air.
With the pandemic, we have expanded this even further to include:
- Requiring all patients wear a face mask when entering the office.
- Asking all patients to wash hands thoroughly immediately upon arrival.
- Limiting the number of patients scheduled to reduce people waiting in the reception area.
- Checking temperatures of all patients that come in.
- Checking blood oxygen saturation levels of each patient with a pulse oximeter.
- Providing hand sanitizer in the reception area and bathroom.
- Removal of all magazines and reading materials from the front reception room to limit pathways of possible contamination.
- Removal of cloth towels from the bathroom, in favor of paper towels for drying hands after washing.
- Disinfecting all surfaces in between patients and regularly cleaning and disinfecting commonly touched surfaces like doorknobs, faucet handles, light switches and the front door entry keypad.
- Pre-screening patients over the phone to ensure that they have no active symptoms of COVID-19.
- Insisting that anyone with active symptoms of COVID-19 like cough, fever, shortness of breath, chills, runny nose or congestion, change or loss in sense of smell or taste, not come in for treatment.
Hopefully we won’t have to follow these strict measures forever and we appreciate your patience while we do. If there is anything else you would like to see us implement to help you feel even safer, please do let me know! Now more than ever people need the alternative healing treatments that my colleagues and I provide, and we want to do everything possible to make those as safe as possible.
