Feeling More Tired Lately?
Have you been feeling tired more lately, for no apparent or obvious reason? You didn’t stay up late, you didn’t have a bad night of sleep, and you didn’t exercise more than usual, but you’re still feeling tired? Rest assured, this can be perfectly normal, provided it doesn’t last too long. Let me explain.
Sleep can be a time for processing emotions and “stuff”. It can also be a time when our systems heal and transform, or “upgrade”. This is why babies need so much sleep. They are transforming so much that their systems need all this sleep to integrate. It’s the same for us adults in times of massive change.
With all that’s happening in the world right now, from the pandemic and all the economic hardship it has caused to the social unrest and divisiveness that is gripping the United States, there is a lot going on right now. We are moving towards a new paradigm, and with that comes the tearing away and dying off of the old.
And with all this comes a lot of “stuff” to process. And one way that we do this is through sleep. So if you’ve been feeling more tired lately, give yourself the time to sleep more. It will make the transition through this chaotic time a little less painful and intense, and prepare you better for what is to come.
Getting extra sleep will also strengthen your immune system in case it needs to fight off the coronavirus. Really it’s a win-win!
